Spend five minutes thinking about these questions:
- Have you got an up-to-date Will, and do the executors of your estate know where it is?
- Did you know that even if you are married your partner cannot make decisions for you if you become unable; unless you have completed a correct Power of Attorney?
- Does your family know how your household is managed? Including managing any pets?
- Do your executors have access to your passwords to your digital life?
- Is your social media life set up with controls for after your death?
- Do you have any private digital information that you would prefer others not to have access to? (Destroy this information before it causes distress).
- Have you arranged for guardians for your children, and are the Guardians aware of the arrangements you have made?
It’s a good idea to write down what you want at the end of your life. There are things that you can do right now, to bring yourself peace of mind, and save your family distress as well.
